No, registration costs €15.

Here is what you get for this fee :

  • A race number,
  • The official bottle,
  • A bag full of goodies.

Above all, registering for Bike for Kivu will make you take part in an unforgettable party!

How can I participate with my company?

If your company wishes to support your team by financing the registration fees or by participating in the fundraising efforts of its members, contact us at info@eale.be, and we will be happy to create your team page.

We will then provide you with a secret registration link to be shared only within the company. This allows each new member to benefit from the terms and conditions agreed with your company.

Can minors register?

Yes, minors can register, but must have a parental authorization form filled in by a parent to bring on the day of the event when picking up the jersey. Children under the age of 12 must remain under adult supervision during the race.

When is my registration final?

Your registration is definitive once the €200 has been collected. Only then will you validate your right to take part in the race. We will send you short reminders until you have reached your goal, and an email confirming your registration when you have reached the amount to be collected.

What happens when I have collected €200?

Congratulations! You will receive an email a few days before D-Day announcing the finality of your registration.

What is the deadline for collecting €200?

For better organization, all registrations must be final by midnight on the 7th of June.

If you have not collected €200, but you manage to find last-minute donors before the start of the race, we invite you to present proof of your additional donations at the race number collection stand (e.g. by showing your page on your smartphone screen or your registration confirmation email).

Please note that even after the race, your entourage can continue to support you, as you will retain access to your collection page until the 8th of July 2024.

What happens if I don't manage to raise the €200?

If you do not manage to reach the minimum individual collection target, you will not be able to participate in the race. This is a difficult reality, but we cannot make an exception without losing the character of our solidarity race.

100% of the donations collected will be used to finance the projects of our 5 associations. So if you don't reach the objective, the amount collected will still be added to the total amount collected for the event.

But…

  • In the village will stand a “regularization” desk where you can bring the missing euros to participate anyway.
  • If your team has managed to raise enough above the minimum, you will still be able to participate (eg. John raised only €150? But Alice raised €250! Ok, the whole team is welcome on the starting line).

Can I cancel my registration and get a refund?

We will not refund the registration fee.

It is also not possible to transfer your registration to a third party.

Do I need a medical certificate to participate?

No, you do not need a medical certificate. We leave you to assess your health on your own and assume that if you register.

The Bike for Kivu event

Does the participation fee include an insurance for the participants?

Bike for Kivu is covered by an organizer's liability insurance. The members of the organizing committee, their employees and voluntary helpers are covered for damage caused to third parties as a result of their participation in the organization of the event. However, this insurance does not cover any accidents caused by participants or third parties who are not part of the B4K organization, nor any damage you might suffer during the race.

Is the race timed?

The whole course is not timed. But for the more sporty ones, the course will not be just a cool ride. Both on for road and on mountain bikes, the Sport and Endurance tracks go through some of the challenges that have crafted the legend of Brabant cycling. On these segments, the performances are timed. At the end of the day, everyone gets one's time and the best climbers of the day will have the honor of wearing the Bike 4 Kivu polka dot jersey.

Is it possible to rent bikes on site?

Yes, it is possible to rent an electric bike for a flat fee of €35 all-inclusive. The bike will be waiting for you at the venue.

To reserve it, here are the steps to follow:

If you have not yet registered

Check the box “I want to rent an electric bike” while creating your collector's page.

If you are already registered

Go to your user account (via “hello …” in the main menu or “login” if you are not logged in)

Follow “Bike for Kivu” and click on the “options” button of your page. On this screen you will find the checkbox to reserve your bike.

Can I be a volunteer?

Of course, the organization is looking for many volunteers to become race marshals. The mission is simple: to be stationed on the road and to ensure traffic flow at certain crossroads. A good way to experience the cycling event from the inside while enjoying the sunshine!

What should I bring?

You must bring the following documents when checking in:

  • Your bike
  • Your helmet if you have one
  • Your confirmation email

Once this step has been completed, you will receive your bib and bottle.

Is there a deposit for sports bags?

Yes, there is a deposit for your belongings. And good news, you can even leave your bike there at the end of the race to enjoy the village!

Can I change my mind before D-Day and switch for another track?

Yes, you can! Depending on your shape and your legs, you can even choose another distance during the course. Indeed, the three distances overlap and the intersections will be indicated by Bike 4 Kivu signs.

The interface of your account on the site gives you access to the course and jersey size preferences as soon as you register. So you can change this as long as you like.

Can I come with my pet?

Yes, if you don't ride a bike and only come to support the riders!

Will there be podiums?

After the arrival of the participants, a prize-giving ceremony will be organised to award the best climbers of the day and the participants who have raised the biggest amount of money!

In total, there will be 8 polka dot jerseys to be won for the four categories of road and mountain bike/gravel riders :

  • Men (< 45 years old)
  • Women (< 45 years old)
  • Men's legends (45+)
  • Women's legends (45+)

Will I be filmed or photographed?

On the track, there will be several cameras posted to take the best pictures of your effort. You will be able to download these photos via your bib number after the event.

How can I become a partner/sponsor of Bike for Kivu?

Nothing could be simpler: contact our sponsorship managers directly.
